History

CAOS: Cognition And OntologieS is a workshop series devoted to the relationship between cognition and ontologies with the purpose to model, simulate and represent cognitive phenomena for artificial intelligence.

The first CAOS was held at the conference Formal Ontology in Information Systems (FOIS 2016), Annecy, France , in July 2016.

The second edition took place at The AISB Convention, organised by the Society for the Study of Artificial Intelligence and Simulation of Behaviour (AISB 2017), University of Bath, UK, on the 18-21 of April 2017.

The third edition of CAOS was part of the Joint Ontology Workshops (JOWO) held at FOIS 2018 in Cape Town, South Africa, in September 2018. It was organised as a joint event with the workshop CEX: Explainable AI.

The fourth edition took place at JOWO 2019 in Graz.

The fifth edition took place at JOWO 2021 at the Bolzano Summer of Knowledge BOSK.
